AMD 6 - Maria Young

For this AMD, I decided to watch one of my favorite movies in German - Pretty Woman. I have seen other movies with Julia Roberts in German and I found it cool/really funny that she has the same German voice. This is my all time favorite movie, and I have seen parts of it upwards of twenty times, so it was not difficult for me to understand the actors considering that I have the most of the movie memorized.

What I found very interesting though, was how just by the way that the German actors said the lines (obviously the emotion in the actor was the same) - some scenes in the movie had a different feel. In many of the themes, it seemed much less emotional because of the way the German language sounded. Perhaps this is because emotions sound differently in German than they do in English - as in intonations are different.

All in all, it was a fun activity - and I never mind watching my favorite movie, no matter what language!
