AMD 6

For my final ever AMD (unless they have them in Germany too) I chose to do some research on the city I will be living and learning in for the Summer: Schwäbisch Hall. For your reading pleasure, I have compiled a list of "fun facts" about the German city.
1. Schwäbisch is the name of the region that the city resides in
2. Hall comes from the west Germanic word for "drying something with heat"
3. Until 1925, Schwäbisch Hall contained a very important salt mine, which made it a prime strategic city during Napoleon's conquest of Europe.
4. The city was officially given the name Schwäbisch Hall during the Third Reich.
5. Now, Schwäbisch Hall is home to many cultural events that take place either on the staircase of St. Michael's church, or in the Globe Theatre.
6. Schwäbisch Hall has earned a reputation of being quite a college town, as it has many vocational schools as well as the Goethe Institute (which I will be attending)
7. Schwäbisch Hall is home to the American Football team, the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorn. GO UNICORNS!!
